Obituary

LUCIA  G. CABALLERO

Lucía Guerrero Caballero, 89, of Laredo, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. Born on February 14, 1936, Lucía was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family.

Lucía was known for her generosity, caring nature, and dedication to her family. She ensured her loved ones were always well-fed with her delicious homemade meals and brought joy to family gatherings with her spontaneous spirit and love for dancing. Her passion for sparkly jewelry was shared with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter.

Lucía will be remembered for her spunky personality, witty sense of humor, and the love she had for her family and friends. She was always willing to help and support everyone, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, José Juan Caballero, her parents, Eutiquio and Cecilia Guerrero, her sisters and brothers, and other relatives.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Alejandra Macias, son-in-law, Cayetano Macias; her grandchildren, Ana Lilia Fernandez (Ernest) and Romeo Macias (Michelle); her great-granddaughter, Assilem Martinez, and many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lucia's nieces, Carmelita Pompa Delgado and Silvia "Lorena" Guzmán, family friend, Diana T. E. Lopez, and all of Lucia's relatives and friends that visited her at Las Alturas Nursing Home. Additionally, the family would like thank all of the staff of Las Alturas Nursing Home for the loving care they showed Lucía during her stay.

Pallbearers will be: Cayetano " Tano" Macias, Romeo Macias, Michelle Macias, Ernest Fernandez, Ramon Martinez, Arturo Espinoza and Jose Eduardo Garza.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 departing from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Holy Mass was celebrated at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Cayetano "Tano" Macias, Romeo Macias, Michelle Macias, Ernest Fernandez, Ramon Martinez, Arturo Espinoza, Jose Eduardo Garza and Jose David Sanchez.
