LUIS M. LOPEZ
Luis M. Lopez was born on May 16, 1929, in Houston, Texas, and passed away peacefully, on June 19, 2019, in Laredo, Texas.
He was raised in his beloved Encinal, Texas where he lived with his parents and siblings throughout his childhood years until he turned eighteen when he joined the United States Army. He served honorably in the U.S Army during the Korean conflict from 1947-1951. Luis married Lucila Lopez and they resided in San Jose, California where they raised their seven children, Louie, Linda, Oscar, Rosie, Cindy, Heidi and Lulu. They also helped raise most of their 20 grandchildren all of whom reside in California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucila Lopez, and his parents, Francisco Lopez and Estela Molina, his siblings Amalia Garza, Francisco Lopez, and Josefina Benavides. He is survived by his children, his brother Hector (Mary) Moreno and by his devoted sister Dora (Oscar) Hale who lovingly served as his caretaker during his final years. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on June 22, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, located at 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Honoring Luis' wishes, a private committal service will be held for the Family at a later date.
