LUISA CRUZ VDA DE ALVERDI Luisa Cruz Vda De Alverdi, 82, passed away October 23, 2012 in Laredo, Texas. She was very ahead of her time very liberal and successful women. Very determined with any project she undertook. She was also Known for her continued success working at Mercy Hospital as a lab tech for many years. When she retired she loved to spend time with her family and play the piano. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jose Luis Alverdi Romero of 40 years of marriage. Parents Ernesto and Aurelia Barrera. She is survived by her children Ana Luisa Alverdi, Alonso (Norma) Alverdi, Jose Luis (Lourdes) Alverdi and Diana J. (Jose Roberto) Chava. 14 grandchildren. 8 Great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends. The family would like the friends and relatives who have assisted her through her illness. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m.on Friday, October 26, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m at San Agustin Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvery Catholic cemetery
