MANUEL ALFREDO ALVAREZ
Manuel Alfredo Alvarez,"MEME", 72, joined our Lord, in his heavenly kingdom, on a warm Sunday morning, November 24, 2019.
Manuel was born on May 10, 1947, in Laredo, Texas, to Rodolfo and Concepcion Alvarez. He attended and graduated from Nixon High School and married Carolina Segovia. They resided in Chicago, Illinois, for a few years, before they returned to Laredo, Texas. Upon their return, they fulfilled one of their life long dreams, to open their own grocery store, called "Alvarez Grocery". MEME was avid in archery and continued with his long life passion by working at Border Sporting Goods, for over 20 years. He was a loving, kind, workaholic, generous, compassionate and always going above and beyond, helping his friends out, and a gentle grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rodolfo & Concepcion Alvarez.
Brother, Fernando Alvarez.
Left to cherish his memory, are his loving wife, Carolina Alvarez, of 49 years, 1 month shy of celebrating their 50 year wedding anniversary.
Children, Maribel Alvarez, Monicabibi Alvarez, and Manuel Alfredo Alvarez Jr. (Nora Patricia Alvarez).
Grandchildren, Timothy Ryan, Katalina Oxana, Maximiliano Aaron, Miguel Angel, Valentino Aurelio and Mateo Augustine Alvarez.
He is also survived by other loving relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez,Lopez & Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday,November 30, 2019. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m.. at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services will be held on a later date.
