MANUEL CONTRERAS Manuel Contreras, 88, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Contreras was born in San Ildefonso, Coahuila Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for most of his life. He is survived by is loving wife, Ramona Contreras. Sons, Jesus (Ernestina) Contreras and Antonio (Alicia) Contreras. Daughters, Marina (John) Mentzcos, Adela (John) Ahooei, Juanita (Victor) Diaz, Concepcion (Rogelio, dec'd) Rodriguez and Elvira (Alberto) Avila. Also surviving him are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be officiated at 10:00 a.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Southside Chapel, Loop 20 and Zapata Hwy. Funeral services will begin departing at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Santo Nino Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in Las Lomas Cemetery.
