MANUEL "Squatty" POMPA GUEVARA

Manuel Pompa Guevara, 96, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Mr. Guevara was born and raised in Laredo, Texas, he served his community by serving with the Webb County Sheriffs office for many years. He was a 30 year veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War as a Sergeant First Class.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Guevara and Virginia Pompa.
Spouse, Trinidad Gonzalez Guevara.
Grandson, Juan Angel Perez.
Brothers, Juan (Leonor) Guevara and David (Rosa) Guevara.
Sister, Catalina (Alfonso) Ramirez.

He is survived by his children, Manuel "Coach Meme" Guevara III and Araceli (Ernesto) Perez Sr.
Grandchildren, April Lee Guevara-Pick, Ernesto (Alyssa) Perez Jr., Linda K. Perez and Sergio Manuel Perez.

Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow with full military honors at the Laredo City Cemetery.
