MANUEL RAUL JIMENEZ
Surrounded by his loving family, Manuel Raul Jimenez—known to many as Jim, Sonny, and Capi—has
peacefully completed his journey on earth.
Manuel was born in San Antonio, Texas, and later moved to Laredo with his parents, where he attended
Leyendecker Elementary, Christen Middle School, and Martin High School.
From a young age, Manuel was a hard worker, starting out as a newspaper delivery boy in the early
morning hours. In every job he held, he consistently worked his way up the ranks. One of his first
positions was at Ramirez Mini Max, where he took great pride in his work. He eventually began a career
as a dispatcher with the Webb County Sheriff's Office, where he continued to excel, demonstrating a
strong work ethic and dedication. He rose through the ranks from deputy to Captain, giving his all to
every task.
His greatest joy was his family, and he took pride in teaching others, believing that knowledge was the
strongest weapon and that one should be self-reliant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Trinidad & Maria Luisa Jimenez, his wife of 45 years, Olga
Chavarria Jimenez, his brothers, Jose Luis, Antonio Alberto, and Ricardo Rene Jimenez, his sister-in-law,
Arabella Chavarria and Roxanne Guerra Jimenez, his brothers-in-law, Ruben and Reyes Chavarria, Miguel Sepulveda, Ricardo Valdez, and Cuathemoc Rocha, his son-in-law, James Lara, and his nephews, Michael Sepulveda Jr.,and Reynaldo Rocha, niece Roxanna Ramirez
He is survived by his wife, Angelica Murillo Jimenez, his children, Celia Irma Jimenez, Manuel Raul
(Cecilia) Jimenez Jr, Cynthia Yvonne (Alejandro) Rodriguez, Miguel Roberto (Mari) Jimenez, Christina
Isela (James +) Lara, Caryl Yvette Jimenez, Cheryl Eileen Jimenez, and Jerri Lynn (Roberto) Ortiz. His
grandchildren, Federico III (April), Isela Guerrero; Michelle (Joe Salinas), Manuel III (Diana) Jimenez;
Jennifer (Larry Vidaurri), Alejandro Jr. (Valerie), Roxanne, Alexis (Gerardo Gomez) Rodriguez; Maegan
Jimenez; Brianna, James Henry, Karianna Lara, Amanda Alfaro, Jacob Chavez, Joshua Jimenez; Briana
(Jose Mendiola), Steven Ortiz: and 24 great-grandchildren. His brother, George (Claudia) Jimenez;
sisters, Ana Maria (Jesus) Alarcon, Sylvia (Cuachtemoc + ) Rocha, Graciela (Miguel + ) Sepulveda, and
Rosa (Ricardo + ) Valdez sister-in-law Socorro Jimenez, Oralia Jimenez and Sara Jimenez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil of the Deceased being recited in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral Service will begin Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025. A funeral procession will be departing at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal Service and interment will be held in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
