MANUEL MARTINEZ SR. Manuel Martinez Sr., 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in McAllen, Texas. Mr. Martinez was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Silvero and Teresa Martinez. Wife, Hortencia G. Martinez. Brothers, Guadalupe Martinez and Jose Martinez. Sisters, Esmeralda, Enriqueta Leija, Maria Lujan and Genoveva Peralez. He is survived by his son, Manuel (Mary) Martinez Jr. Grandchildren, Manuel (Claudia) Martinez III, Lisa (Juan Tomas) Solis and Linda H. Martinez. Great-grandchildren, Javier Martinez, Victoria Martinez and Darian Solis. Sisters, San Juanita and Julia Hernandez. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at San Francisco Javier Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
