Manuel Alejandro
Olivo Jr.
April 15, 2026
MANUEL ALEJANDRO OLIVO JR.
Manuel Alejandro Olivo Jr., passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2026, at the age of 56 in his home in Laredo, Texas.
It is clear that Manuel was a person of profound character and commitment. He dedicated over two decades to the surgical field, a field that requires not only immense technical skill but also a steady hand and a resilient heart.
In the high-stakes environment of an operating room, a Surgical Technician is often the "silent engine" of the team—the person ensuring every instrument is ready and every protocol is followed so that lives can be saved. For Manuel to have provided that level of service for 20 years suggests a deep-seated desire to help others during their most vulnerable moments.
A life defined by "purpose and joy" while serving in such a demanding profession is a beautiful legacy. It speaks to a man who didn't just show up for a job, but who viewed his work as a calling. His presence likely provided a sense of security and excellence to his colleagues and comfort to countless patients.
His father, Manuel Alejandro Olivo, Sr., preceded Mr. Olivo in death. Mr. Olivo is survived by his beloved wife Mariah Olivo, Children - Maribel Baeza Garza (Rolando Garza-husband), Alexis Nicole Olivo (Daniel Esparza-husband), Matthew Candelario Olivo (Ashley Olivo-wife), Daniel Alejandro Olivo (Alyssa Olivo-wife), Isabella Marie Olivo, and Emma Natalie Olivo. Mr. Olivo is also survived by his mother Martha Vargas de Olivo and by his brothers and sisters Rebecca Plasencia (David Plasencia-husband), Veronica Horanzy (Derek Horanzy-husband), Ricardo Olivo (Esmeralda Cantu-Olivo-wife) Jaime Olivo (Consuelo Gutierrez-Olivo-wife), and Albert Olivo (Vanessa Acosta-wife).
13 nieces and nephews, and 7 grandchildren.
