MANUEL ORTIZ JR.
"A loving Father, Grandfather and Friend to all."
Manuel Ortiz Jr., 80, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Ortiz was born in Dolores, Texas and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. For over 20 years, Mr Ortiz worked at the Environmental Department at Laredo Mercy Hospital. He was the kindest person anyone could ever meet. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 43 years of marriage, Irma Hilda Ortiz.
Children, Martin Ortiz, Jesus Ortiz and Gerardo Ortiz.
Parents, Manuel Ortiz Sr. and Tomasa Vargas De Ortiz.
He is survived by his children, Irma Yvonne Ortiz and Jose Manuel Ortiz (Roxanna).
Grandchildren, Ysabel Escobedo, Israel Escobedo Jr.,
Ivan
Escobedo, Cheri Sophia Rose Rice, Joeana Ortiz, Kaylee Ortiz, Mariano Ortiz and Zoey Ortiz.
Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitation will be limited to 25 % of capacity inside our funeral home.
It is preferred that minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased, officiated by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon, will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel, at 9 a.m., on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
