MANUELA AMESQUITA Manuela Amesquita passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 77. Mrs. Amesquita was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She had attended and completed her education at Laredo Martin High School and graduated with the "Class of 1954" She is truly a devote Tiger "Once a tiger always a Tiger". During her lifetime she was employed as a cashier for S & H Kress for over 43 years. After her 43 years of service to the community she retired and dedicated herself to her crafts and knitting. She would construct little pillows and Quilts of yellow or blue and then offer her crafts as gifts to her family and friends. As her wish, her granddaughter then took up knitting to follow in her grandmothers footsteps and fullfil her grandma's dreams. She is preceded in death by her sister Olga Gonzalez, by her brothers Ramiro Gonzalez and Roberto Gonzalez Jr. and by her maternal grandmother, Florinda Hernandez. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years of marriage Rodolfo Amesquita Sr. She is survived by her children; Rodolfo (Rosario) Amesquita Jr., Ruby A. (Luis Vicente) Ortiz, Ruben (Ana) Amesquita and Rosa Isela (Ruben) Nunez. (11) Eleven Grandchildren and (9) Nine Great-grandchildren. His (2) sisters: Gloria (Santos) Salazar and Ana Maria De La Rosa. Brother: Oscar Gonzalez. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
