MANUELA L. MATA Manuela L. Mata, 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2014 at a local hospital. Mrs. Mata was born in Laredo, Texas and has been a resident of Laredo all her life. She is preceded in death by her spouse Guillermo Mata and by her mother Concepcion Leija. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Teresa Cisneros (Rodolfo, dec'd), Esperanza (Jesus) Torres, Rosa Mata, Belinda (Arturo) Casarez, Roberto Mata, Miguel Angel Mata, Ricardo (Corina) Mata and David Mata. Her 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving her numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4 to 9 pm and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 pm in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin departing at 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 from the funeral home chapel. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
