Marcial Palomo Sr
Marcial Palomo Sr., age 94 of Laredo, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Marcial was born in Dolores, Texas. Throughout his life he also lived in Laredo, Texas, Fremont, Ohio, Blue Island, Illinois, and finally settled in Crown Point, Indiana. He is survived by his children: Maria (Guillermo) Gonzales, Juan (Ellie) Palomo, Barbara (Charles) Davis, Lucia (Norman) Jacobsen, Gerald (Michel) Palomo, Consuelo (Mark) Koehler, Teresa (Robert) Hookman, Juanita (David) Hillyard, Guadalupe (David) DeChene, Anthony (Kristie) Palomo, and Martin (Beth) Palomo; daughters-in-law Mary Palomo and Barbara W. Palomo; 32 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, and sons Felix and Marcial Jr. Funeral services will begin with visitation on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 11a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. A Vigil of the Deceased will be officiated by Deacon Gerardo Morales at 11:30 in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will then follow immediately after the service in the Laredo City Cemetery Veteran's Section. Marcial's work ethic led him to live in different areas to seek better employment opportunities to provide for his thirteen children. Some of these opportunities included; farmhand, grounds keeper at a Convent, various factory work and security guard at a hospital. After serving his country in the U.S. Army for the campaign in France, he came home to serve as a Laredo Police Officer. He also was a member of the League of United Latin American Citizens and was a Community Service Advocate for non-English speaking Citizens.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 13, 2017 departing from the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels.
Committal services and interment followed in the Laredo City Cemetery.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Guillermo Gonzales, Jerry Palomo, Tony Palomo, Marty Palomo, Vincent Sanchez Jr. and Marc Palomo.
