MARGARITA ALVAREZ Margarita Alvarez, 66, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at a local hospital. Mrs. Alvarez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 year of marriage Francisco Alvarez. Children, Margarita Contreras Alvarez (Rene Contreras), Francisco Alvarez, Luis Eduardo Alvarez, Diana Alvarez, Mario Alberto Alvarez and Eduardo "Eddie" Alejandro Garcia. 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Sisters, Silveria "Vera" Gomez De Rico, Lupe Guevara De Rico, Evangelina Renteria De Rico and Alicia Garcia De Rico. Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Southside Chapel, Loop 20 and Zapata Hwy. A Liturgy of the Word will be officiated by Rev. Father Alirio Corrales at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will be held at a later date.
