Obituary

MARGARITA G. GARCIA IDROGO

Margarita Gloria Garcia Idrogo, 91, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025.

She was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. Margarita was a beloved wife for 55 years, a loving mother, and a grandmother who always put her family first before herself. She wholeheartedly supported her husband in his love for baseball by attending all games and her children and grandchildren in all of their activities. She always made sure she was in attendance to offer her love and support. Our mom was an excellent cook and could produce and garnish a savoring meal in no time, above all, our mom instilled a strong Catholic faith in her family.

Our mom was amiable, approachable, and kind, especially to those in need. She cherished her childhood friends (Dolores Martinez† and Mary Gutierrez†) and enjoyed their outings where they shared their joys and struggles. She also enjoyed her work and the friendships she
established with her supervisor and colleagues at Laredo State University, where she worked as the Veterans Admission Clerk.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Aurelia Garcia †, her beloved husband, Frank Idrogo Sr.†, and her son, David Larry Idrogo †.

She is survived by her children, Deacon Frank Jr. (Maria del Rosario) Idrogo, David Larry † (Myriam) Idrogo, Richard (Susana) Idrogo, Miss Margarita G. Idrogo and her sister Melida Garcia Fernandez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Margarita was a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren: Clarissa Lynn (Uriel) Mata, Frank Anthony Idrogo, David William (Thelma) Idrogo, Christopher Lee (Cecilia) Idrogo, Jonathan (Allison) Idrogo, Nathan Idrogo, Nathaniel Idrogo, Richard Louis (Emily) Idrogo, Andrew (Celina) Idrogo, Maegan (Theron) Birdsong, Dana Idrogo, and Alejandra Nicole Idrogo. In addition, she was a joyous great grandmother of 17: Julianna Mata, Elianna Mata, Alyssa Idrogo, Atlas Idrogo, Ace Idrogo, Mauricio Idrogo, Maximo Idrogo, Eliza Idrogo, Richard Orion Idrogo, Teagan Birdsong, Ethan Idrogo, Alexia and Alex Mendoza, Angel, Alberto, and Valeria Zuniga, and Antony Idrogo.
