MARGARITA GOMEZ

Margarita Gomez, 79, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Gomez was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, of over 30 years of marriage, Rafael Valeriano Gomez.

Parents, Pablo Gonzalez Aguilar and Josefina Avitia de Gonzalez.

Numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Juan (Reyna) Barragan, Pablo Barragan, Rafael (Sylvia) Barragan, Guadalupe (Gabriel) Leal, Claudia Barragan and Eduardo (Elena) Barragan.

Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.

Following the ordinance by the State of Texas, visitation will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.

It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February, 3, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
