MARGARITA NORMA GARCIA Margarita Norma Garcia, 59, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Laredo, Texas. "God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believed in him may not perish but have eternal life" (John 5:16) Mrs. Garcia was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and had been a life long resident of Laredo, Texas. Laredo has lost a great educator. Margarita received her B.S. and Masters degrees from Texas A & M International University. She was an educator for 28 years, and firmly believed that with an education every child had the potential to be successful in whatever endeavor they pursue. Many professional people in Laredo such as Doctors and Lawyers were her students. She was extremely proud of all her students. A great lady, sister, mother, wife and grandmother will be greatly missed. She enjoyed ranching, hunting and fishing, gardening, arts and crafts, sports, but most of all she loved being with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Margarita Salinas. Daughter, Margarita del Refugio Garcia. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years of marriage, Arturo R. Garcia. Children, Arturo Salvador Garcia, Abel Enrique Garcia, Arturo (Yolanda) Garcia, Candelaria Garcia and Patricia (Emilio) Trevino. 10 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Brother, Abel Jaime Salinas. Sisters, Maria De Jesus Salinas and San Juanita (Jesus) Benavides. Also surviving her are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Vicente De Paul Catholic Church. Committal services will then follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
