Obituary

MARGARITA TREVINO MARTINEZ The Lord called upon his angel, the epitome of love and perseverance, Margarita Trevino Martinez, to enter into eternal life, November 2, 2015, at 12:45 p.m. Preceded to the heavenly gates by her husband, Jose P. Martinez, children, Jorge, Jose and Gloria Elza. Brother, Rafael Trevino. Margarita "Memito", led a lucky existence, full of exciting adventures and love filled moments, always willing to help those in need, in her words, "La raza, religion y sexo no lo discutira. Todos somos hijos de el Senor. " She bestowed wonderful memories that will keep her family smiling and laughing on a patio painted with every color of the rainbow and many nights spent with Lady Luck screaming, "BINGO!" Always putting her family first, she was a jack of all trades, an avid gardener, astounding cook, caring mother, wife, nurse's aide and any job that was asked of her. Her rebel spirit is carried on by 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 sister and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. We were blessed to learn many valuable life lessons about caring for others and most importantly, the best way to make menudo. Thanks to her loving and strict teachings, we all know how to cook, clean, garden and cure people from "El Ojo". The skies will look brighter everyday because heaven cannot contain the beauty that you radiate. Mom, your funeral is not just the mourning of your death, but a celebration of your life and an acknowledgement of the endless sacrifices you've made to keep us happy. It is not the goodbye that hurts, but the flashbacks that follow. You will forever be in our hearts and deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. A Chapel service will be held at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
