Maria Antonieta "Toni" Cruz
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria A. Cruz, who, after a long illness, peacefully gained her wings. Though her journey was marked by many challenges, she faced them with strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family. Toni as many knew her was born in August 26, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, but Laredo was where she grew up Toni was devoted mother and wife, a beloved sister, a cherished aunt, a loving niece, and a dear cousin and friend to many. She had a kind heart, a gentle spirit, and a smile that brought comfort to those around her. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with her family, and the memories she created will be treasured forever.Toni was preceded in death by her loving mother, Juana Mena; her brother, Jose Mena; and her beloved grandmother, Maria Matamoros. While her family grieves this tremendous loss, they find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her.Toni leaves behind a family and many friends who will forever cherish her love, kindness, and the lasting impact she made on their lives. Left to cherish is her husband, Raul Lara, her son, Valente Cruz, her sister, Bertha Mena, and her nephew, Derrick Angel. also surviving her are numerous of relatives and friends Although she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
