Mara Elsa Arizola May 2, 1960 - January 13, 2013 Mara Elsa Arizola passed away peacefully at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas on January 13, 2013, after living a jovial lifestyle in which she brought many smiles to many people. Elsa was born on May 2, 1960 in Laredo Texas. Elsa was always a caring, hard working and nurturing person. Education was very important to her and during her 28 years of service at Daiches Elementary for Laredo ISD, she created many friendships and was often called to mentor new teachers. No matter what grade level she taught she always gave 100%, receiving countless awards year after year. This same ideology was used in her faith. A devout Catholic all her life, she always maintained an eternal smile, no matter what circumstance may have been put forth. The faith she had put her to work for Holy Redeemer Church. She would spend countless hours organizing church finances, functions and of course their weekly Bingo while making many friends along the way. She strongly believed in the morals of St Augustine and became a part of his society named after him through the Holy Redeemer Church Chapter. She has left a big hole in all of our hearts. I ask that everyone fill that hole with lovely memories of my Tia Elsa. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Anastacio Arizola and Juanita G. Arizola; maternal grandparents, Juan and Eleuteria Gmez; paternal grandparents, Julin and Eufemia Arizola; aunts and uncles, Roberto and Delfina Gmez; Miguel Gmez; Irma Gmez; and her cousin, Roberto "Chato" Gmez. She is survived by her sisters Elia (Fernando) Gonzlez; Maria Elva (Antonio) Pea and Elisa Ortiz; also by her nephews, Julin Arizola, Fernando Tadeo Gonzlez, and Alberto Ortiz, Jr. Surviving her as well are countless family members; aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews; friends and 28 years worth of Daiches students.
