MARIA D. ARREDONDO Maria D. Arredondo, 93, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Arredondo was born in Converse, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Marcos Arredondo, daughter, Maria Hernandez, Marie (Roberto) Hernandez and son Refugio Hernandez. Her parents Juan Justo Garza and Josefa Garza, her siblings, Luis Garza, Genaro Garza, Geronimo Garza, Justo Juan Gomez, Julia Martinez, and Victoria Garza. She is survived by her children: Manuel (Alicia) Arredondo, Josefa Arredondo, Elena (Juan) Macias, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Gloria (Roy) Nuno of San Jose , CA., Juanita (Carlos) Tijerina, Tomasita (David) Bustos, and her nephew, Juan (Rosa) Garza. surviving her also are her sisters, Hortencia (Alberto) Medina of California and Olga Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas and sister-in-law, Frances (Luis) Garza. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez East Chapel , 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral arrangements will begin on Tuesday morning, January 21, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvery Catholic Cemetery.
