It is profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Teresa Arriaga on December 6, 2024, at her loving home in San Ygnacio, Texas. Born on April 19, 1952, in Webb, Texas, Maria Teresa lived a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Maria Teresa raised a loving family, which brought her immense pride and joy. She is survived by her children, Manuel (Elizabeth Marie) Arriaga Jr., Roberto Alejandro Arriaga, Yvonne (Heriberto) Alcantar, Mark Louis (Monica Marie) Arriaga, and Daniel Drayton (Leslie) Arriaga. She is also survived by her sisters, Carmen S. (Ramon) Martinez and Alicia S. (Luis Angel) Vargas; her brothers, Arturo (Sylvia) Sandoval and Roberto Sandoval Jr.; and her beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Maria Teresa was predeceased by her son, Roger Rene (Sylvia) Arriaga; her parents, Luis Sandoval Jr. and Juana Ramos Sandoval; and her brothers, Luis Gilberto (Tomasa) Sandoval and Roberto (Marta) Sandoval.
Maria Teresa's life was marked by her love for gardening, where she found joy in tending to her plants. She cherished summers spent with her grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Her creativity shone through in her arts and crafts, a passion she shared with those she held dear. Known for her resilience and determination, Maria Teresa never allowed challenges to hold her back, not even after enduring multiple medical conditions. Her unstoppable spirit remains an inspiration to all who knew her.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St., Laredo, TX 78041. A Religious Service officiated by Pastor Alvaro Guzman was held in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment followed at the Martinez Cemetery, in San Ygnacio,Texas.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Martin Gomez, Reynaldo Gomez, Roger M. Arriaga, Mark L. Arriaga III, Robert A. Arriaga Jr and Ricardo A. Arriaga.
HONORARY PALLBEARER: Alex P. Arriaga.
Maria Teresa Arriaga's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and comfort during this time of sorrow. May she rest in eternal peace.
