MARIA G. BAROCIO
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of my beloved sister, Maria Guadalupe Barocio, 74; on April 29, 2026.
Known affectionately as Lupita, and remembered for her friendly personality and red nails and lipstick. She lived a full life that taught her many lessons such as, valuing the important things. She dedicated 32 years of service to LISD where she made lifelong friendships.
My sister fought a courageous battle with Cancer. The hard fought fight displayed her strength and determination until her very last days. Through her good and bad days she still wanted the people around her to be happy for she has lived, loved and been loved.
Preceded in death by the love of her life Lazaro Barocio; her mother Micaela San Miguel, and brothers Hector San Miguel, Emilio Rabago Jr., and sister Olga San Miguel.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Dora (Daniel) Herrera; Nieces, Jackie (Mauro) Alaniz, Lizzy (Joaquin) Villarreal, Daniella (Alexander) Landy; Great nephews and nieces, Joaquin Villarreal II, Mauro Alaniz II, Marcus Alaniz, Marilyn Alaniz, Zoey Villarreal, Matthew Alaniz, Arabella Landy and Maddison Landy.
Also surviving her are numerous of relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Joaquin Villarreal, Mauro Alaniz, Alexander Landy, Raul Castillo and Mark Steven San Miguel.
Honorary Pallbearer: Daniel Herrera.
