Obituary

MARIA JULIA CASTANEDA
Maria Julia Castaneda, 93, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Mrs. Castaneda was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eduardo Castaneda.
She is survived by her children, Ms. Mercedes Castañeda, Eduardo (Veronica) Castaneda Jr., Elena (Sixto) Salinas, Emily Castaneda, Lucia Huntington, Maria Leticia Castañeda and Juan Jose Castañeda.
11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Sister, Alicia Izquierdo.
Also surviving her are numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitations will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.
It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be officiated at 7 p.m. at the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
