MARIA DOLORES CASTANON March 15-1967 - December 11, 2013 Maria Dolores Castanon, 46, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Castanon was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. Lolis was a loving mother, daughter, and sister. She lived life with a positive attitude and enjoyed every minute of it. Her warm heart and concern for others were something to be admired. She will always be loved and remain in our hearts forever. Special thanks goes to Antonia Lopez for the care and love she provided and Lolis best friend, Sandra Gonzalez. Warm wishes and thanks go the 3C staff at Laredo Medical Center, especially registered nurses: Jessica Chapa, Martha Garcia, Veronica Arreazola, and Rosie Saldivar, Certified Nurse Aides: Gaby Tijerina and Martin Urbina, Doctors: Armando Hinojosa, Sergio Villegas, Eduardo Miranda, Manuel Jovel and Pedro Soto. Thank you all for your support and care. She is preceded in death by her Father, Jose B. Castanon. She is survived by her sons, Bernardo (Denise) Ramirez, Jr., Fernando (Tanya) Ramirez and Aaron Ramirez. Grandchildren, Bernie, Katelynn Ramirez and Athena Cordova. Mother, Avelicia B. Castanon. Siblings, Adriana (Joaquin) Solis, Jose Bruno (Dora) Castanon, Avelicia (Samuel) Perez, Carlos David (Rosaura) Castanon and Gabriela (Juan) Arteaga. Nephews and Nieces, Erika Gil, Juan Gil, III., Brianna Solis, Kassandra Castanon, Alexandra Castanon, Bruno Castanon, Marissa Perez, Roberto Samuel Perez, Mayra Perez, Sandra Perez, David, Alexis, Arianna, Francisco Gael Castanon and Anel Arteaga. Also surviving her are aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on December 13, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Santo Nino Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
