MARIA TERESA ESCOBAR MARTINEZ
Maria Teresa Escobar Martinez, 87, of Laredo, Texas passed away peacefully, at her home, on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
Mrs. Martinez was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who lovingly raised 14 children and cared for many of her grandchildren. Mrs. Martinez shared a very special relationship and love for the Salesian Sisters of Mary Help of Christians, where her 14 children attended school, over a span of 30 years and where she lovingly volunteered her time to teach crochet classes to the students and support the Salesian Sisters. Those who knew her were blessed by her giving heart, and selfless spirit and recall many memories created by all the experiences she bestowed on her children, family and friends and.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Matilde and Fidela Escobar, her brother Jose D. Escobar, her son Jorge Javier Martinez, her granddaughter Alejandra Martinez, Sr. Mary Gertrude (Tia Crucita) and her husband of 68 years Jose Antonio Martinez.
Maria Teresa Martinez is survived by her brothers Juan Escobar and Pedro Escobar, her children Elsa (Rosa Coleman) Martinez, Jose Antonio Martinez Jr., Gerardo Martinez, Sergio Martinez, Jaime (Guadalupe) Martinez, Mauricio Martinez, Gilberto (Lourdes) Martinez, Eben (Gabriela) Martinez, Gustavo Martinez, Maria Teresa (Evan) Sierra, Ana Maria (Luis) Botello, Maria Ana (Alfredo) Ortiz and Kathleen (Jonathan) Martinez-Sawicki.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to her very dedicated and loving caretakers Alma Lopez and Rosi Mendoza.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 departing from the
Hernandez Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Holy Mass was celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Jeronimo A. Martinez, Marco A. Martinez, Gilberto E. Martinez, George Vasquez, Gilberto Enrique Martinez and Regulo Rodriguez.
