MARIA ANTONIA GAONA
Maria Antonia Gaona, 91, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Laredo, Texas.
Mrs. Gaona was born in New Braunfels, Texas and was a resident of both Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico for the majority of her life.
She was a Seamstress extraordinaire for most of her life and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Gaona, who passed away on April 27, 2004.
Son, Gerardo Gaona, who passed away on March 5, 2014.
Son, Antonio Gaona, who passed away on January 11, 1970
She is survived by her children, Lourdes Gaona, Manuel (Christine) Gaona Jr., Gil Gaona and Liza Gaona.
Grandchildren, David Aguirre (Roxanna Perez), Sarah (Michael) Hamby, Mia Gaona, Sophia Gaona, Stephanie Gaona, Jenny (Alex Padilla) Gaona, Nora "peaches" (Chris Cazares) Gaona, Gerardo Gaona Jr. (Zandra Flores), Ilyssa Lopez, Natalia (Joe Collado) Lopez, Kristina Morales and Robert Morales.
Great-grandchildren, Joseph Aguirre, Madeline Hamby, Michael Hamby Jr., Jacob Navarro, Austin Navarro, Jordan Olivares, Benjamin Olivares, Maxwell Padilla, Christopher Cazares Jr., Antonio Recio and Marcela Mendiola.
Daughter-in-law, Nora Diana Gaona.
Siblings, Isaura Garza and Jose Anaya
Also surviving her are numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
