MARIA DE JESUS VALDEZ Maria De Jesus Valdez, 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at a local hospital. Mrs. Valdez was born in Coahuila, Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for sometime. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria S. Longoria. Daughters, Socorro Zamora and Antonia Valdez. Son, Raul Valdez. Granddaughters, Lorena Zamora and Erika Olivares. 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years of marriage, Arnulfo Valdez. Children, Norma A. (Roberto) Rodriguez, Genoveva (Armando) Ayala, Arnulfo (Consuelo) Valdez, Arturo (Blanca) Valdez, Maria De Jesus (Eusebio Huizar) Valdez and Irasema (Cesar) Gamez. 33 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Prayer services will be held at 6 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. A chapel service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will immediately follow the service in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
