MARIA L. SALINAS October 24, 1939 - April 1, 2012 Maria L. Salinas, 72, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at a local hospital. Mrs.Salinas was born in Laredo, Texas and had remained a resident of Laredo all her life. She retired from the City of Laredo after 31 years of service at the Health Department. She will be greatly missed by all her family and all the friends who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Mario H. Salinas. Also by her parents Jesus and Dolores R. Davalos; her mother-in-law Romanita Salinas; her brothers, Alberto, Jesus and Carlos Davalos; her sisters, Rafaela and Eugenia Davalos and her sisters-in law Angela C. Davalos and Magdalena Rodriguez and her nephew, Juan Davalos. She is survived by her son Mario H. Salinas Jr. Nieces and nephews; Monsignor Carlos Davalos,of San Antonio, Texas, Rosario Davalos, Graciela Alegria, Consuelo Hernandez, Alfredo Davalos, Angela P. Gomez, Dolores Davalos, Maricela De Alba and Jesus Davalos. Also surviving her are several cousins and other family members and many friends. The family would like to thank her loving caretaker Elizabeth Alegria, Dr. Adolfo Garcia, Dr. Benson Huang, Dr. J. Camero and Dr. Carlos Cigarroa. Visitation will be held on Tuesay, April 3, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased officiated by her nephew Monsignor Carlos Davalos will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.Funeral services will begin departing Wednesday morning, at 9:30 a.m. on April 4, 2012 from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass officiated by Monsignor Carlos Davalos will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church Committal services and interment will then follow in the Cavlary Catholic Cemetery.
