MARIA JOSEFINA LARA

Maria Josefina Lara, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Mrs Lara was born in Anahuac Nuevo Leon Mexico but had been a lifelong resident of Laredo.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel G. Lara Jr., by her grandson Nicholas Lara, her parents Reynaldo and Clementina Yruegas, her brother Reynaldo (Nancy) Yruegas, sister Blanca Yruegas and by her son-in-law Eladio Rene Zuniga.

She is survived by her four children, Adriana (Julio) Ortega, Manuel (Cordelia) Lara III, Gabriela Lara Zuniga, and Luis Gerardo (Janie) Lara.

Grandchildren, Manuel (Lillian) Lara IV, Matias R. Morales, Christina Yvonne Lara and Clarissa Marie Lara.

(2) Great-grandchildren, Jack Benjamin Lara and Lucas Manuel Lara.

Her sisters, Clementina Campbell and Lucila (Thomas) Howerton.

Her Dear Friend, Maria De Los Angeles Pastrana.

Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 10, 2025 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Committal Services will be  held at a later date.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Matias Morales, Manuel Lara IV, Robert Campbell, David Campbell, Thomas Haverton, Kenneth Haverton, Kenneth Parks, Ray Holguin and James Perez.

HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Luis Gerardo Lara, Manuel Lara III and Julio Ortega.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hernandez ,Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.
