Obituary

MARIA MERCEDES LOPEZ
Maria Mercedes Lopez, 93, known as the "Tamale Lady", passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Candela, Coahuila, Mexico and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.
For many years, she was an active member of the Christ Worship Center. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesus Lopez.
Siblings, Cesaria Rios Rodriguez, Altagracia De Luna Rodriguez and Rosa Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children, Maria De Los Angeles Langley, Amparo Irma (Rodolfo) Robles, Jesus (Raquel) Lopez Jr. and Judy E. (Jose R.) Rodriguez.
23 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
Siblings, Juanita Hernandez, Domitila Gomez and Jose Diego Rodriguez.
Also surviving her are numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. A Religious Service, officiated by Pastors Sam Lopez and Robert Langley, will be officiated at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
