MARIA DE LOURDES (LULU) MEDELLIN MARCH 16, 1938 - MARCH 7, 2013 Maria De Lourdes "Lulu" Medellin, 74, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 7, 2013. Lulu was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She was a former employee with the L.I.S.D. for many years as a Teacher Aide at Leyendecker Elementary School. Lulu loved working with children. Lulu's home was always open to her family and friends, when one would visit her they would always find her cooking delicious meals. She loved to watch her Mexican novelas and was a big fan of WWE, a favorite pastime she shared with her children and grandchildren. Lulu loved anybody and everybody that came into her life, family or not. She truly let the eternal love of God shine through her heart, and this is seen in all her family. She was a very unique, happy, family person and that is how people knew her, simple human being just to love, care and serve her loved ones. Lulu is preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe M. Alvarez. She is survived by her children, Rodolfo R. Medellin, Clara G. (Daniel F.) Muniz, Anita Medellin, Eddie (Rachel) Medellin, Gerardo (Flor) Medellin and Grizelda Villalobos, grandchildren, Daniel F. Muniz Jr., David G. Muniz, Clarissa Muniz, Gerardo Medellin Jr., Idalmy G. Medellin, Eduardo Medellin Jr., Jorge A. Medellin, Marcos Medellin, Ivan Medellin, Amanda L. Aguirre, Ashly R. Aguirre, Rey Villalobos, Jorge R. Villalobos, Camila N. Medellin, Regina P. Medellin, great-grandchildren, Gerardo Medellin III, Yeko Medellin and Damian Medellin, brothers, Michael A. Alvarez and Arturo A. (Juanita) Alvarez. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 departing from funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
