Maria Guadalupe Lugo, 100, was called home to our Lord on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. Lupita, as family and friends called her, lived a life of service to others.  She was a loving and compassionate woman who touched the hearts and lives of all she encountered.

Mrs. Lugo was born in Camargo, Mexico and had been a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Julio Guzman and Tomas Lugo and by her daughter-in-law, Maria Elena Guzman.

She is survived by her children, Maria Elena (Arturo) Carrillo and Melchor Roberto (Maria Elena +) Guzman; grandchildren, Maria Elena (Dominic) Meza, Arturo Carrillo Jr., Robert Anthony (Julie) Guzman, Daniel (Lee) Guzman, and Michael (Emily) Guzman; great-grandchildren, Rene (Kate), Cristian Anthony, Isabella Grace, Elizabeth Ryan, Nicholas Anthony, Elijah Liam, Rebekah Lee, and Eliyanah Larissa; great-great grandchildren, Oliver Charles and Adam Davis.

Our beloved Lupita will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and loved ones. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at  San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
