MARIA A. LUNA Maria A. Luna, 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at a local hospital. Mrs. Luna was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. She is preceded in death by her sons, Arnulfo Luna and German Luna. Brother, Raul Casarez. She is survived by her husband of 45 years of marriage, Adalberto A. Luna. Children, Anna M. Shaffer, Francisco A. (Juanita) Luna, Patricia V. (Guadalupe) Patino, Diana M. Mathis-Luna, Dinora M. Trevino, Yvonne (Frank) Verta, Araceli Luna, Yvette (Kevin) Kenealy and Humberto (Jennifer) Luna. 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Gloria Murillo, Epifania Casarez, Juana Garza and Delia Valdez. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, other relatives and numerous other friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez & Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
