MARIA M. MATA JUNE 10, 1938 - FEBRUARY 14, 2012 Maria M. Mata, 73, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Mata was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. She is survived by her loving daughter, Margarita (Elias) Mendiola Jr. Granddaughters, Argentina Mendiola (Ricardo) Garcia and Stephanie M. (Jorge) Flores. Grandchildren, Elias R. Garcia, Jorge Alberto Flores and Janelle Flores. Brother, Jose Ovaldo (Vangie) Moreno. Sisters, Cecilia (Humberto) Sanchez and Aurora Moreno. Sister-in-Law, Angie Moreno. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Southside Chapels, Loop 20 and Zapata Hwy. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning, February 17, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Vicente De Paul Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
