MARIA LYDIA MERCADO Maria Lydia Mercado, 61, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at a local hospital. Maria Lydia Mercado was born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had been a life long resident of Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel C. and Lydia Guevara Brother, Manuel Guevara, Jr. Niece, Angela Victoria Guevara She is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years of marriage, Ricardo Mercado Children, Lydia Veronica Mercado, Elizabeth Mercado and Cori (Samuel Hinojosa Jr.) Mercado Grandchildren, Jaime, Nichole, Yaretzi and Abbygail Brothers, Jaime (Mercedes) Guevara, Jose Luis Guevara and Armando (Lucy) Guevara Sisters, Ana Maria Guevara and Leticia (Jeff) Kluetz Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Southside Chapel, Loop 20 Zapata Hwy. Funeral services will begin at 9:20 a.m on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
