MARIA OLGA GARZA
Maria Olga Garza, 87, joined our Lord in his heavenly kingdom on Sunday, June 5, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was an amazing mother who always looked out for her children, and the greatest "Guela" to so many. She loved to cook for all her family and enjoyed playing loteria. She retired as a provider for 22 years and enjoyed caring for others who needed her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sotero Martinez and Bernardina Galvan.
Brothers, Sotero Marruquin, Amado Martinez, Roberto Martinez and Rafael Martinez.
Sisters, Zulema Arce and Jovita Farias.
Son, Horacio M. Garza.
Daughter, Elodia Garza.
Grandchildren, Roberto Gomez, Alma Garza Ramos, Ricardo Garza and great grandson, Carlos Marquez.
She is survived by her children, Jesus (Josefina) Garza, Sara (Carlos+) Lopez, Yolanda (Genaro) Gomez, Ana (Javier) Marquez, Maria Elvia (Pedro+) Hernandez, Horacio+ (Eva) Garza and Jaime Garza.
19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Also surviving are numerous other family members and many friends.
Special thanks to her providers Candelaria Vasquez and Anita Rodriguez. Thanks to Holy Savior Hospice, Palliative Care, LMC ICU 2nd floor staff, Satellite Healthcare, South Laredo Clinic, La luz daycare and Judge Danny Dominguez and Staff.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 10, 2022 departing from the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave
. Holy Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Juan Carlos Zepeda, Genaro Gomez, Jacinto Rosales, Carlos A. Zepeda, Manuel Jorge Benavides, Jaime Garza, Jaime Antonio Garza and Juan Manuel Verzon Jr.
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Carlos Lopez, Jesus Garza and Javier Marquez.
