Maria L. Olmos, aged 81, peacefully departed this life on August 10, 2026, in Laredo, Texas. Born in Los Sauces, Guanajuato, Mexico, she embraced Laredo as her home for many years.
Maria shared over 60 cherished years with her beloved husband, Jose Loreto Olmos, who preceded her in death, along with their sons, Saul and Javier, and her parents, Nestor Luna and Maria Guerrero de Luna.
Her legacy lives on in her children: Matilde (Eloy Barrera Jr.) Olmos, Irma with her husband Tony Luna, Alma Nancy Olmos, Jose Olmos, Rosa with her husband Everett Brown, and Lucia with her partner Pedro Lerma. She was a loving grandmother to 23 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 21. Her sister, Otilia Luna Guerrero, remains among those who treasure her memory. Maria's spirit will also be carried forward by numerous relatives and a wide circle of friends.
A visitation will be held on August 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels in Laredo. A Rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for the morning of August 15, proceeding with Holy Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
