Maria S. Ortiz, 69 Our beloved mother went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She worked at Laredo Medical Center for 35 plus years in the food service department until her retirement. She is preceeded in death by her parents Inez and Maria Francisca Romo. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Julian Ortiz, her children, Julian Jr. (Luanna) Ortiz, Jose Ignacio (Olivia Martinez) Ortiz, Patricia Ortiz (Carlos A. Villarreal, Jr), Maria Elvira (Jose Luis de la Rosa), Jorge Ortiz, her grandchildren Selina Marie, Clarissa Yvonne, Jorge Julian de la Rosa, Rene Antonio Ortiz, Jorge Ortiz Jr., Jose Ignacio Ortiz Jr., Rogelio A. Martinez, numerous family members and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Zuniga-Goldwater, Dr. Godines, 5C staff at LMC, Pro Health H. Health, and Capital Care EMS. Our most sincere appreciation for thoughts and prayers to Sister Carmell and members of Laredo Dioceses Sr Center. We will miss her sweet smile, tender heart, and gentle ways she shared with everyone. She will be in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 proceeded by a mass at 9:30am at Holy Redeemer followed by a burial ceremony at the Laredo Catholic Cemetery.
