Mom

There are moms who inspire their children.

There are moms who encourage their children, by setting an example, something much more powerful than words. There are moms who raise their children to stand on their own, with confidence. There are two things that I am thankful for in my life. One, the never ending love of God and Second, having you as my mom, an unselfish giver, a great listener, a wise counselor, a guide, and a true friend. We Love you very much Mom.

Maria Del Pilar V. Costilla, 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Costilla was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Pilar Vega.
Daughter, Elisa Costilla.
Brother, Martin Vega.
Sister, Rebecca Castillo.
She is survived by her loving husband, of 56 years of marriage, Manuel Costilla Jr.
Daughters, Pilar Costilla, Veronica Costilla and Maria Eugenia Costilla Santillan.
Grandchildren, Jorge Alberto Lucio and Victor Manuel Santillan.
Sisters, Benita (Benjamin) Reyes and Magdalena Treviño.
Cousin, Leonard (Janice) Vega.
Also surviving her are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WILL BE: Jorge Alberto Lucio, Víctor Manuel Santillan, Juan Antonio Pastrano, José Ángel Pastrano Jr., Mark Anthony Perez, Jose Reynaldo Perez, Pascual Castillo Jr. and Rolando Elizalde Jr.

HONORARY PALLBEARER: María Eugenia Costilla Santillan.
