MARIA DEL ROSARIO RAMIREZ

Maria del Rosario Ramirez passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 83.

She was born on June 19, 1941, to Antonio D. Rodriguez and Tomasa Flores, of Laredo, TX.

She attended and graduated from Ursuline Academy, in 1959. After graduation, she attended Mercy Hospital School of Vocational Nursing, graduating in 1960, as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She started work at Mercy Hospital, then worked with Dr. Leonides G. Cigarroa as his office nurse from May 1961 to June 1973. After Dr. Cigarroa's passing, she went to work at the Laredo Health Department from August 1973 to August 1977. In 1977, she started work for the Laredo Independent School District Special Education Program, at Farias Elementary School, moving to Martin High School towards the end of her career. She retired from LISD in 2008. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rodolfo C. Ramirez, parents Antonio D. Rodriguez and Tomasa Flores, sons Rodolfo G. Ramirez and baby Daniel Ramirez, sisters Maria Santos Rodriguez and Maria Antonia Rodriguez, brother Salvador R. Rodriguez, and granddaughter
baby Veronica Hinojosa.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria del Rosario Hinojosa of El Paso, TX and Laura Anne Ramirez of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren David Hinojosa Jr. of San Antonio TX, Michael Hinojosa (Amber) of El Paso, TX; Annabelle Hinojosa of New York, NY; Deanna Victoria Ramirez of San Antonio TX; Brian Anthony Ramirez of San Antonio, TX; and great grandchildren Adalynn, Aidynn, and Arabella.

She is also survived by her brother Ramiro Francisco Rodriguez (Irene) of Eagle Pass TX; nephew Anthony (Imelda) Rodriguez, and grandnephews Juan Ramon, Ramiro Francisco, Anthony, and Aaron Rodriguez.

Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, departing from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave . A religious service was held in the funeral home chapel before committal services and interment which followed in the Laredo City Cemetery, Veterans Section, with her beloved husband, Rodolfo C. Ramirez.
