MARIA GRACIELA "GRACIE" RUIZ
Maria Graciela "Gracie" Ruiz, 49, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Ruiz was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
Gracie, as she was known to everyone who knew her, fought a courageous fight with cancer for over a year.
Although she was experiencing difficulty, as a result of her illness, she never complained and was a source of enormous strength for her husband, who never left her side, and to her family and friends, who supported her through her most difficult and trying moments.
Although her family and friends know that she is with Our Lord, she will be greatly missed and always remembered.
She is preceded in death by her father-in law, Enrique Ruiz Sr., who passed away in 1995.
Niece, Yvonne Soto.
She is survived by her loving husband, of 33 years of marriage, Enrique Ruiz Jr.
Children, Enrique (Cassandra) Ruiz III, Erica Ruiz, Emiliano Ruiz, Esteban Ruiz.
Grandchildren, Eunice Ruiz, Evany Arredondo, Eileen Ruiz, Eliud Arredondo and Carlos "Mito" Ruiz.
Parents, Manuel Rene and Graciela Gonzalez.
Sisters, Idalia (Juan) Soto, Zulema (Jorge) Garza and Margie (Joe) Guzman.
Mother-in-law, Maria Luisa Ruiz.
Brothers and sisters-in-law,
Rebecca (Carlos) Quintero, Jose Alfredo (Maricela) Ruiz, Gerardo (Anabel) Ruiz, Ricardo (Sonia) Ruiz, Roberto (Elisa) Ruiz and Juan Manuel (Antonia) Ruiz.
Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
