MARIA R. TAPIA
Maria R. Tapia, 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Tapia was born in New Braunfels, Texas and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, of 55 years of marriage, Salome Tapia.
Great-grandaughter, Catalina Tapia.
Sisters, Telvina Soto and Maria Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children, Pedro (Ma Carlota) Tapia, Matias (Ana Maria) Tapia, Jesusa (Fidencio) Linares, Alicia (Juan Pedro) Quiroz, Jeanne Guzman, Salome (Juanita) Tapia Jr., Ruben (Rosalia) Tapia, Roberto (Maria) Tapia and Rosa (Raul) Vergara.
43 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Tapia's family would like to mention their utmost gratitude to Mrs. Tapia's healthcare provider, Juanita Torres, for her special care. The family would also like to extend a special "Thank You" to Dr. Norberto Alvares for his compassion and loving care.
1st Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a 2nd Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil of the deceased held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Santo Niño Mission Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
