MARIA R. VELA

Maria R. Vela, 85, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Mrs. Vela was born in Buda, Texas and was a longlife resident of Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Felix Vela.

She is survived by her children, Luis E. Beltran and Ricardo (Diana) Beltran.

Grandchildren, Ricardo Beltran Jr., Luis Solis, Monica L. Solis and Andres (Esmeralda) Solis.

Great grandchildren, Andrew Solis, Matthew Solis and Emily Solis.

Brother, Gumercindo Reynero.

Nephews and nieces, Cruz Armando Gonzalez, Juan (Elena) Gonzalez, Gloria Gonzalez, Luisa (Jorge) Sandoval, Priscila (Frank) Ruiz, Claudia (Rene) Rodriguez, Gumercindo (Dora) Reynero and Elizabeth (Mark) Vasquez.

Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
