MARIA I. ZEPEDA

Maria I. Zepeda was born on October 15, 1930 and passed from this life, peacefully on February 12, 2026.

She lived her entire life of 95 years in Laredo, surrounded by her family. Her parents, two brothers, two daughters, a son and son-in-law preceded her.

She is survived by her son, Bill Garcia who was devoted to her and cared her all her life. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Annabele G. Almeida (Frank), Arnoldo Gonzales, Jr., and Juan Zepeda, Jr. She will be remembered fondly by her great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We would like to thank her caregiver of seven years, Marina, who devoted all her time and compassion. Maria was very fond of her and was appreciative of all her attention and loyalty. Marina gave the family peace of mind.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS:  Frank Almeida, Juan Zepeda Jr., Primitivo Zepeda, Maria Elena Zepeda, Juan Flores Jr. and Danny Flores.

Maria will be missed greatly and be remembered with love. She lived a long and happy life surrounded by her pets who will miss her companionship.
