MARIO PAZ LEIJA Mario Paz Leija, 60, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Leija was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo for sometime. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Maria Elvia Chavez de Leija on March 24, 2010. Granddaughter, Valeria Jacquelie Leija. Father, Sergio Leija. He is survived by his children, Mario Alberto (Gloria) Leija, Sergio Enrique (Alicia) Leija, Maria Elvia Leija Miney and Alma Lydia (Sergio) Salgado. 8 Grandchildren. Mother, Maria Luisa M. Leija. Brothers and Sisters, Rita (Raul) Mendoza, Elvia (Leocadio) Coata, Maria Lourdes (Baudelio) Almagres, Gregorio (Ernestina) Leija, Guillermina (Ruperto) Gomez and Maria Elvia Leija. Also surviving him are nephews, nieces, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
