In Loving Memory of
Mario Alberto Rodriguez
May 1, 1964 – January 7, 2026
Mario Alberto Rodriguez passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by family and
loved ones. Born on May 1, 1964, in Laredo, Texas, Mario was a proud graduate of Martin High School and
later attended Laredo College. Soon after, he began a long and dedicated career in accounting.
He worked for the Texas Migrant Council and later for the Diocese of Laredo, where together he
devoted more than 35 years of faithful service and professionalism.
Mario was known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and incredible sense of humor that instantly
put others at ease. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
His family meant everything to him. Mario enjoyed gardening and had a deep love for sports, especially as a loyal Miami Dolphins
fan. Spending time with his grandchildren, Ricardo and Riley, brought him his greatest joy. He
also loved hosting cookouts and celebrating holidays at his home, where countless memories
were made and cherished by all who enjoyed his warmth, hospitality, and cooking.
Mario will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. While our hearts grieve, our faith
comforts us in knowing that he is now face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ, and that we will
see him again one day.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Antonio and Carmen Rodriguez; his brothers,
Ramon Rodriguez and Ernesto Rodriguez; and his nephew, Raul De La Garza.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 40 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" Rodriguez; his
daughter, Vanessa Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Riley Victoria Gonzalez and Ricardo Romeo
Gonzalez; his brothers, Francisco Javier Rodriguez and Jose Antonio Rodriguez; and his sisters,
Gloria (Raul) De La Garza, Rosa Rodriguez, Raquel (Raul) Perez, Graciela Rodriguez, Minerva
Rodriguez, Maricela Rodriguez, and Teresita (Francisco) Escamilla. He is also lovingly
remembered by his sisters- and brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and
extended family near and far.
