MERCED LEAL September 27, 1906 - May 4, 2012 Mr. Merced Leal joined our Lord in heaven on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the age of 105. Mr. Leal was born in San Marcos, Texas but had been a resident of Laredo all of his life. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Celestina Leal, his son, Ernesto Leal and three daughters, Francisca Leal, Elena Sanchez and Belen Padilla. He is survived by his two sons, Alfredo (Beatriz) Leal and Daniel (Rosa) Leal. 22 Grandchildren and numerous Great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are nephews, nieces, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
