MICAELA M. FLORES

Micaela M. Flores, 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Cotulla, Texas.

Mrs. Flores was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She had been employed for over 30 years with Central Drug in downtown Laredo. She pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher, and she did just that. She taught at Daiches Elementary for over 17 years of service. She retired from LISD in 2008 and enjoyed her retirement with her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her son, Raul Quirino Flores who passed away on September 12, 2022, her brothers Eusebio Martinez and Raul Martinez and by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Quirino  Martinez and Dolores M. Martinez.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years of marriage, Blas Flores.

Her children, Alma (Vicente) Leal, Vilma (Manuel) Salinas, Melinda Serna, Blas Flores and Araceli (Jorge) Nieto.

Her 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by countless family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to all the Doctor's, nurses and staff  at Las Palmas Nursing Home in Cotulla, Texas for taking good care of their mother.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal service and interment followed in the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Blas Flores, Vicente Leal Jr.,Manuel Salinas, Jorge Nieto Jr., Manuel Salinas, Jr., Evaristo Serna Jr., Ruben Sanchez, John Lama and Jorge Luis Nieto III.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.
