Obituary

Michael Ray "Mike" Campbell, 61, passed away surrounded by his family after losing his battle with Cancer, on July 2, 2014. In Laredo, Texas at Laredo Medical Center. Mike graduated from Ranger High School in Ranger, Texas. He was a Jr Golden Gloves Boxer and an All State Catcher at Ranger High School. He was also offered a Scholarship to Play with the Padres. He ran a Shrimp Boat in Aransas Pass, Texas where he gained many life experiences and charisma no one could deny. Then moved to Laredo to begin his career in Auto Mechanics where he worked at Jim William's Honda, then he moved to San Antonio to work at Benson Honda Mazda and Gillman Honda as an Auto Mechanic. After moving back to Laredo he worked again with Jim Williams Honda as a Parts and Service Manager where Mike got many awards and certificates for all the trainings he went to and several articles in the paper, he was very humbled by all these experiences. When the Honda Dealership was sold, he went to work for Price Construction as a Road Mechanic; and was also a boat mechanic at Laredo Boat Shop by Lake Casa Blanca. Mike started his own Auto Shop next to their home and later relocated his shop to the Mines Rd. Mike worked with A-1 Warehouse. Mike was a jack of all trades, whatever you needed, whenever you needed it, he was there and he got it done. After several illnesses and surgery's Mike spent time visiting his Dad and doing volunteer work with his sons Pop Warner Team, Laredo Hornfrogs, as their Equipment Manager. He and his wife Marilyn started a T-Ball team, The Padres, where he coached his grandkids. He also volunteered from 2002- 2012 with the Laredo Youth Hockey teams, Laredo Spikes which later became The Laredo Jr. Bucks. Mike had a one of a kind way of showing his compassion usually in the lines of "DAMN IT MARILYN" or "IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEBODY CLEANED". This may sound like someone picking a fight but if you knew Mike, you knew he was just showing his love. Mike found his last love Marilyn in 1981, she became his someone to argue with, to love and to make sure their lives were never boring. He is preceded in death by his parents Morris A. and Mary F.
